The Steven and Chris Show!

Lynne Bailey has studied art in both Canada and the United States. She started at the age of 14, copying paintings in her parent’s home and later found her own unique style in an imaginative whimsical medium through her Furniture as Art.

Lynne has taught block printing, tole painting, and decorative painting for furniture and home décor.

Lynne taught art while in Los Angeles, and in her classes, she included the technique and composition, a study of Folk Art. Later her examples, Whimsey would be shown in galleries throughout California.

This interest in living with art as a functional element led to numerous requests for murals in homes, some in the ‘trompe L’oeil’ (fool the eye) technique as well as commissions for her paintings on antiques. Her designs were also used for needlepoint, rugs, tiles, and fabrics.

“The largest painting I ever did took over a month to complete and covered four walls and the ceiling in a rather large room. I have decided to scale down since then and concentrate on my chairs,” she commented, in an interview for an Art Magazine.

Along with her other credits, Lynne added fashion design and created the sweater line under the label of Vagabonda. Her creations were seen on television and award shows worn by some of Hollywood’s most fashionable stars.

She has now returned to her home in Canada to be rediscovered by television personalities such as ‘Steven and Chris’ on their CBC television show and plans to live in Canada forever.
